Children Rising: After-School Tutors needed

Urgent Need: Kids are struggling with reading and math. You can be a fantastic tutor!

Tutor a child!
All you need is a caring heart and a desire to be part of the team of parents and educators that nurtures a child in a circle of care. You will help them learn either reading or math. You give children a fairer chance to succeed in school … and in life. 

No prior experience is necessary, and we make it easy.

Children Rising programs are structured so that it is easy for you to step in and be effective immediately. And you will work in a team environment supported by Children Rising staff and fellow tutors. The reward of watching a student complete the assignments they struggled with and prepare to succeed at the next level is priceless!

A few details:

• We provide tutor training throughout the entire year. The Children Rising volunteer coordinator will help you register for an upcoming date.

• The schools we support are in Oakland Unified School District throughout the City of Oakland. 

• We work around your schedule. Tutoring schedules vary and will be based on student and tutor availability during school hours.

• We have in-person and online tutoring options.
